Plan to be in downtown Rio Vista on the California Delta this October for a premier sportsmen's event ... the 72nd Annual Rio Vista Bass Derby & Festival. The Sacramento River provides the perfect riverfront venue for the oldest bass fishing event on the west coast and a family-oriented Fall festival including a midway with carnival rides, food, drink, live entertainment, car show and fireworks.

An Angler's Dream Derby

Where else can you spend the day fishing and make some real cash while you do it? The oldest bass derby on the west coast is a fisherman's dream come true. Spend the day on the picturesque Sacramento River and at the Rio Vista's Bass Festival.

Anglers can choose from several fishing contests, including striped bass, sturgeon, salmon and, new this year, black bass. Stripers must be a minimum legal size. Target lengths are drawn at the start of the derby early Friday morning, and then the boats are off.

The Rio Vista Bass Derby & Festival loves to see everyone get in on the fun and offers a full midway with carnival rides, games, food, drink and live entertainment. Ride tickets can be purchased on site or in advance at local merchants.

Classic and dream cars on display.

The Rio Vista Lions Club again hosts the car show with amazing vehicles lining the streets of downtown Rio Vista. Many regard it as one of the best shows in Northern California and it's absolutely free to the public.
